The Rebranding Project began in 2012 with Deepsmart
There was a brainstorming session and the following was identified:

- Prof Organization

- All sectors of industry included (technicians, student members)
- Not exclusive
- Respected authority in Africa
- Promote awareness as from secondary school
- Network of likeminded engineers – forum
- Industry respect the organization
- Custodians of industry
Tone
- Was seen as an old boys club
- Perceived as vendor driven
- Coolness
- Energetic
- Encourage youngsters – engineering field
- Balance between fun and professionalism
- Interesting
- Youngsters must feel they want to be part of it

- Looking after the existing members
- Looking after Patron members
- Show real examples to youngsters – tangible
Target Audience
- Captains of industry
- Government
- Dean of faculty – Tertiary Institutions
- School – vocational guidance – head master – TEE
- Department of education needs to give permission
